Eight organizations, 1,200 employees join 3sHealth-administered EFAP since 2017

September 24, 2019

Eight new organizations have joined the 3sHealth-administered Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) since 2017, meaning that over 1,200 new employees are now covered by the program. Their immediate families and dependents will also benefit from the coverage. As of Sept. 1, 2019, the total number of people in the employer-paid plan is now 48,016.

The Morneau Shepell EFAP service provides members with immediate and confidential help for any work, health, or life concern. Services available include family, legal, financial, and health and wellness support, as well as counselling services. Learn more here

Vicky Catchuk, the 3sHealth Provincial EFAP Coordinator, says “more Saskatchewan health-care system employees looking to improve their overall wellness can now do so, and many more individuals and families have the help they need to handle life’s challenges.”

“This is one of the ways that we as a system take care of our caregivers.”

The eight new organizations that have joined are eHealth, Eden Care Communities, Caring Hearts (formerly Regina Palliative Care), Hospitals of Regina Foundation, Luther Care Village Operations, Luther Care Communities, Saskatoon Housing Coalition, and SaskAbilities.

SaskAbilities, a registered charity providing programs and services to people experiencing disability in Saskatchewan, joined the program in September of 2018. Kirk Heidecker, the SaskAbilities Human Resources Manager, states that SaskAbilities “staff that have voluntarily shared feedback have made favourable remarks. They have been grateful that they now have access to a variety of different services ranging from legal counselling to nutrition advice.”

To join the EFAP program, an organization needs to either have its payroll or benefits services administered by 3sHealth.
