Physicians: improving dictation and transcription services means better patient care

March 7, 2016

In late February, a team of 33 healthcare practitioners from across Saskatchewan (including physicians, medical transcriptionists and health information managers) took part in a two-day session to standardize, simplify and streamline acute care templates that will be used at the provincial level to dictate medical reports after patient care events.

We caught up with two of the physicians who took part in the event – Dr. Mark Brown and Dr. Ayaz Ramji – to find out what they had to say about the standardization event and how transforming dictation and transcription services with standardized and integrated technologies and processes throughout Saskatchewan will improve patient care.

Dr. Mark Brown – Saskatchewan Medical Association president and community physician in Five Hills Health Region

Dr. Ayaz Ramji – Pediatrician in Prince Albert Parkland Health Region
