Annual process for student benefits verification

If your child is over the age of 21 and attending an accredited post-secondary institution, you need to verify your child’s student status with 3sHealth every year to maintain their benefits coverage.

In July, you will receive a letter and an “Annual Dependent Verification” form to complete and return to 3sHealth. We must receive the completed form by September 1 or your child’s extended health care and dental coverage will end. Please note that coverage for students automatically ends when one of the following events occurs: they stop attending a post-secondary institution, they get married, or they turn 26 years of age.

If your dependent child is attending an accredited post-secondary institution outside of Canada, they can still be covered for benefits. Certain plan limitations will apply. Please contact Employee Benefit Plans for more information by emailing us at ebp@3sHealth.ca, or by phoning us at 1.866.278.2301.
