Health-system improvement goals exceeded in 2025-26
Jun 02, 2026
A productive year allowed 3sHealth to contribute to improvement initiatives in the Saskatchewan health-care system that created nearly 850,000 positive impacts for patients, residents, clients, and care providers across Saskatchewan.
3sHealth is constantly focused on finding innovative solutions to complex problems, helping advance the health system’s goal of providing client-driven health care that is accessible to all people. Our commitment to continuous improvement means we track every improvement initiative our employees contribute to during the year that creates a positive impact once successfully implemented.
By supporting health system partners like the Saskatchewan Health Authority, eHealth Saskatchewan, and others, 3sHealth contributed to initiatives that created 754,672 positive impacts for patients, residents, and clients. Another 94,657 positive impacts on caregivers were also measured.
“Improving patient care is the heart of everything we do at 3sHealth,” explained CEO Mark Anderson. “We work closely with care providers, patient family partners who have experience navigating the health system, and other health organizations to make sure patient care and provider experience are the central focus of our work.”
Those results eclipsed the organization’s goal of 600,000 positive impacts to care and 50,000 impacts to care providers.
How we got there
3sHealth uses an audited methodology to calculate positive impacts. Each initiative is analyzed to determine if it creates a demonstrable improvement that makes care more people-centred, accessible and timely, effective, efficient and sustainable, safe, equitable, and integrated.
In 2025-26, 3sHealth employees were either involved with or led nine initiatives that made positive impacts, including:
- Improved online access to clinical documents for 753,599 Saskatchewan citizens with active MySaskHealthRecord accounts (following a successful pilot program in 2023-24);
- System enhancements enabling the prevention of incorrect pay for 3,120 health system employees;
- Three separate enhancements to Group Life insurance for health system employees and their dependents:
- Optional coverage for spouses and additional coverage for employees, impacting 1,872 health care workers who took advantage of the open enrollment period in May and June of 2025;
- An increase in basic coverage for spouses and dependents for 31,546 health-care employees; and
- Reduced premiums for basic coverage for 47,801 health-care employees;
- Enhanced security for portable electronic devices, positively impacting 6,919 clinicians and administrative staff;
- Better mop cleaning equipment for 2,916 environmental services workers;
- Safer, more effective hemodialysis equipment in kidney health treatment centres, impacting 1,073 patients and 348 nursing staff; and
- Quicker and more convenient expense claim reimbursements for 135 3sHealth staff.
